2027 GRABC Volunteer Site Coordinators
Since the implementation of GRABC's VITA Program in 2004, hundreds of volunteers, have prepared thousands of federal and state tax returns within the
Green River area in Kentucky. Our Site Coordinators are vital to delivering this service to those taxpayers who most need tax assistance.

Carolyn Ferber
Green River Asset Building Coalition welcomed Carolyn Ferber as their new Executive Director in August 2026.
Carolyn brings over thirty years of non-profit and corporate management experience to her position. Her experience includes volunteer recruitment, training and management, marketing, program development and management, fundraising & grant writing, and event planning. Carolyn's non-profit and corporate experience gives her a well-rounded skill set to continue Green River Asset Building Coalition efforts to raise awareness and expand the services of our Mission offered our community and surrounding Green River counties.
Carolyn's nonprofit career began in Lexington, KY where she worked with over 100 other nonprofit agencies in volunteer recruitment and placement, and volunteer management training. While living in Denver, CO, she worked for the Denver and Colorado State Bar Associations managing their public legal education department. In this role, Carolyn recruited and managed volunteer attorneys for many programs, including pro se (do it yourself) clinics and local and state mock trial program. Since her return to Owensboro in 2009, Carolyn has worked with Wendell Foster, Audubon Area Community Services, and Aubrey's Song Foundation for Eating Disorders.
Carolyn's involvement at local, regional, state and national levels throughout her career have given her a wide range of experience for her role as Executive Director with Green River Asset Building Coalition.
The mission at GRABC is to help families become economically self-sufficient. This program Volunteer Income Tax Assistance has operated for over 50 years and GRABC has prepared taxes in our community for almost 20 years. VITA offers free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns; they must be income eligible, veteran, persons with disabilities, or seniors for this money-saving service. This past tax season our VITA volunteers helped return a little over 6 million to the counties we cover.
