2021 GRABC Volunteer Site Coordinators
Since the implementation of GRABC's VITA Program in 2004, hundreds of volunteers,
have prepared thousands of federal and state tax returns within the Green River area in Kentucky.
Our Site Coordinators are vital to delivering this service to those taxpayers who most need tax assistance.

Teresa Thomas
Green River Asset Building Coalition hired Teresa Thomas as their Executive Director in August 2023.
Teresa brings with her nearly a decade of community involvement. She has worked for a mixture of for profit and nonprofit organizations bringing her community ties to help Green River Asset Building Coalition grow the awareness of what their Mission offers right here in our community and surrounding counties.
In her previous role as Executive Director of Friday After 5 she worked with many organizations to tie the community partners in with the 16-week Free music festival for our local community. Other roles that have built her platform to succeed are Director of the The Hines Center, Social Director of the Owensboro Country Club, sales in her fathers business Owensboro Schwinn, and her most current role at Boulware Mission as the Community Development Director.
The relationships she has fostered in her career has led her to be a part of the Green River Asset Building Coalition nonprofit organization. The mission at GRABC is to help families become economically self-sufficient. This program Volunteer Income Tax Assistance has operated for over 50 years and GRABC has prepared taxes in our community for almost 20 years. VITA offers free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns; they must be income eligible, veteran, persons with disabilities, or seniors for this money-saving service. This past tax season our VITA volunteers helped return a little over 6 million to the counties we cover.
